What does this mean in regard to employment?
Residents under this category are only permitted to work for employers who have permission from the States of Jersey to employ “Registered” residents.
Anyone wishing to move to Jersey to work but who would not qualify for an essential licence to become a “Licensed” resident may apply for jobs open to “Registered” residents.
However, individuals contemplating a move to Jersey for work must ensure that they meet the current immigration criteria which sets out who may live in Jersey. Furthermore, anyone wishing to become a Registered resident must ensure that they take the necessary steps to register with the Social Security Department within three months of their arrival in Jersey and obtain a Jersey Registration Card. They will not be allowed to work until they have obtained a Registration Card.
