Guernsey is situated approximately 70 miles from the south coast of England and a short distance from the north-west coast of France. With 24 square miles of beautiful countryside, a stunning coastline and, a mild climate courtesy of the Gulf stream, Guernsey is independent from the UK with its own democratically elected parliament. The island makes its own laws, sets its own budget and also its own levels of taxation.
The quality of life enjoyed by the island’s 62,000 residents is exceptional and those who move here appreciate the favourable work-life balance which islanders benefit from. Offering a dynamic environment in which to do business, many of the jobs available in Guernsey are high-powered “city” jobs and newcomers to the island appreciate that it is an attractive place to work without the downsides of commuting or inner city living. The island has retained a wonderful community spirit, provides an excellent education system and offers a safe and nurturing environment for children to grow up in.
